Ašot Haas

1981, Moscow

Ašot Haas is the winner of the first edition of the Gallery NOVA Award - Glass

2007. Innovative exploration of new dimensions in glass matter in combination with

other materials, application of novel technologies for processing glass, creativity

and precise execution of his art-works characterise the work of this young artist.

He follows the geometric stream by applying the constructivist and minimalist ten-

dencies. He sparked attention with geometric-like objects immersed in glass which

he created by placing small metal particles in between sheets of glass and/or

using metal foil. The form of the immersed objects is ambiguous as it changes due

to viewer’s motion.
